We showcase local and international films newly released this year as well as some screenings provided in collaboration with the National Film Board of Canada. Vancouver Film School presents Makeup Special Effects (Injuries) with Abby Collver (2hrs)
Abby Collver is a Vancouver Film School graduate and industry Makeup Artist who worked on hit shows like The Boys and CW’s Batwoman. Abby will demonstrate and explain the materials and their application to simulate various injuries used for Film & Television production. Materials will include crème makeups, wax, 3rd degree silicone molding putty, acrylic and alcohol based paints. Effects will include a black eye progression from 6 hours old to 1 day old, scrapes, abrasions and dirt, a bullet wound, a third degree burn, blood dressing and painting of a silicone prosthetic.
Abby will walk attendees through the process of creating these look and will be answering any questions you might have!
